For 24 years Kunhardt McGee Productions (formerly Kunhardt Productions) has been making documentary films about the people and ideas that have shaped our history. Currently in production is The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross, a 6-hour documentary hosted by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. for PBS. The company recently produced a new weekly series for PBS, Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. launched on March 25, 2012 and Makers: Women Who Make America, a multi-platform initiative developed with PBS and AOL which launched online in February, 2012 and on air February 26, 2013. They is also producing a documentary for HBO, which will be announced in 2012. Most recently, Kunhardt McGee Productions produced Gloria: In Her Own Words (HBO, 2011), Faces of America with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. (PBS, 2010), Emmy-award winning Teddy: In His Own Words (HBO, 2009), Looking for Lincoln (PBS, 2009), Oprah's Roots (PBS, 2006) and African American Lives 1 and 2 (2006 & 2008) for PBS.
